Mundford play area

A sunny afternoon in late September saw the official unveiling of a new children’s play area at Mundford recreation ground, following fantastic efforts to raise over £56,000 to provide new equipment. Previous equipment, some aged over 40 years old, was removed and sold for scrap to help raise the last few hundred pounds, and lots of local parents helped to reduce costs by clearing the site and levelling the area before the new equipment went on site.

Adventure Playgrounds have installed various equipment of timber construction, which will stretch the imagination of the children in the village, and give them somewhere nicer to spend their leisure time.

Funding for the project was secured from the Parish Council, Breckland District Council, Tesco Community Award Scheme, Garfield Weston, Norfolk Playing Field Association and Norfolk Rural Community Council. The largest grant received was for £30,000 from WREN, who administer the Landfill Community Fund scheme for Waste Recycling Group.
